David Critchley, of Beresford Crescent, in West Bromwich, appeared before Dudley Magistrates Court on Thursday morning.

The 38-year-old has been been charged with two counts of robbery following the incidents earlier this month. He was arrested and charged on Wednesday.

The first robbery is said to have taken place on October 8 shortly before 8pm.

The second incident took place in a nearby street two days later on October 10 at around 7.30pm.

DC James Finnegan, from Force CID, had previously described them as "truly horrendous crimes committed by a dangerous person who has preyed on vulnerable people".

Critchley has been remanded in custody and will next appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on November 15.
