Attempted murder arrest as Stafford attack leaves man critical

A man has been left critically injured after an attack in Stafford.

The attack happened in Marston Road, Stafford

The man, aged 27, was left with a serious head injury after he was attacked in Marston Road at around 7.35pm.

A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in policy custody this morning.

The victim was taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital and is still in a critical condition, Staffordshire Police said today.

Detectives are now appealing for information, while forensic officers continue to examine the scene.

Detective Inspector Giles Parsons, senior investigating officer, said: “We are keen to establish the circumstances of this serious assault."

PCSOs have been making door-to-door enquiries and officers will continue to patrol the area over the coming days.
