The search is on to find a young Jack Russell after it was stolen along with the car it was in from a driveway in Cannock.

Charlie was inside a Mini when it was stolen from a driveway

Charlie was in a carry box on the front seat of a white Mini Cooper when the car was stolen from in front of its owner's house on Monday.

The car has since been found but one-year-old female Charlie is still missing - despite a Facebook appeal to find her having been shared more than 4,000 times.

The Mini was stolen from a house in Walsall Road, Cannock.

Rachael Lewis posted on Facebook: "There is now a reward for Charlie's safe return home.

"No questions asked we just need her back with her dad.

"Charlie is out there somewhere, probably terrified."

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: "We were called at 5.20pm on Monday to a report of a theft of a vehicle in Cannock.

"A white Mini Cooper was taken with keys from a driveway on Walsall Road, and inside of the car was the owner's dog, a female Jack Russell.

"The vehicle was located a short time later on Warner Road, Walsall, and has since been recovered.

"Unfortunately the dog has not been found at this time.

"Any witnesses or anyone with any information is asked to contact us on 101, quoting incident number 571 of October 8."
