Charlie was in a carry box on the front seat of a white Mini Cooper when the car was stolen from in front of its owner's house on Monday.

The car has since been found but one-year-old female Charlie is still missing - despite a Facebook appeal to find her having been shared more than 4,000 times.

The Mini was stolen from a house in Walsall Road, Cannock.

"No questions asked we just need her back with her dad.

"Charlie is out there somewhere, probably terrified."

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: "We were called at 5.20pm on Monday to a report of a theft of a vehicle in Cannock.

"A white Mini Cooper was taken with keys from a driveway on Walsall Road, and inside of the car was the owner's dog, a female Jack Russell.

"The vehicle was located a short time later on Warner Road, Walsall, and has since been recovered.

"Unfortunately the dog has not been found at this time.
