Walsall burglaries suspect sent to crown court

A Walsall man suspected of carrying out a series of burglaries is due to appear in court.

Brian Ball was arrested on a canal towpath on Wednesday morning after he was wanted for questioning for three break-ins in Willenhall.

It is alleged the 39-year-old smashed windows to gain entry to homes in Gomer Street on Saturday, Sandbeds Road on Monday and the following day in St Annes Road.

Jewellery and electrical items were taken during the burglaries − but some items of sentimental value were later recovered by officers, having been traded in at a jewellers.

Ball, of Attlee Road in Walsall, appeared at Walsall Magistrates Court on Friday and is set to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on October 19.
