Four men were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after the gun was fired in Oldbury in broad daylight.

Police were called to Fisher Road on Friday to reports that a weapon, believed to have been a shotgun, had been fired.

They were alerted by a member of the public who reported a disorder in the street at around 3pm.

Paramedics treated a 19-year-old man for a minor leg injury.

Police say it is not clear how he came by the injury and inquiries are ongoing.

There have been no reports of any other injuries and police say it is not clear who the intended target was.

Three people were arrested at the scene, and a fourth was held nearby.

They remained in police custody this afternoon, while officers have been carrying out enquiries in Fisher Road and Marshall Street.

The incident was the first of two shootings in the Black Country on Friday.

Later in the evening an eight-year-old and his stepdad were taken to hospital after a shotgun was fired outside a birthday party at Bilston Sports and Social Club. Both were expected to be discharged on Saturday.
