Drugs, machete and taped-up hockey stick found by police in Burntwood

Drugs, a machete and a hockey stick were found in a car by police in Staffordshire.

Officers said they found this haul when they searched a car in Burntwood

Two men were arrested and Class B drugs were seized after the silver Volkswagen Passat was stopped on Pool Lane, Burntwood, at around 12.30am yesterday.

Officers from Staffordshire Police officers also allegedly found weapons along with what is believed to be cannabis when they searched the car.

A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled drug, possessing an offensive weapon and being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs.

A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and possessing a controlled drug with intent to supply.

Staffordshire Police said both men were from the West Midlands.

They have both been remanded in custody.
