Officers with guns and police dogs went to Upper Church Lane, in Tipton, to reports of people brandishing a hunting-style knife.

When they arrived they also found a sheath, balaclavas, a large pair of scissors and small quantity of cannabis.

Two 16-year-old boys and a 15-year-old boy, all from the Black Country, were arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed article.

Dramatic video footage of the incident, which took place at 4.30pm on Wednesday, shows the armed officers swooping on the teenagers.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “They have been arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed article, spent the night in police custody and will be questioned today."
