Teenagers with imitation firearms arrested at Birmingham's Bullring Shopping Centre

Two teenagers were arrested today after they were found with imitation firearms in Birmingham's Bullring Shopping Centre.

West Midlands Police were called to the Bullring at around 3.30pm to reports of a teenager thought to be in possession of a firearm.

A police spokesman said: "Two teenage boys, both aged 13, were arrested on suspicion of possessing an imitation firearm and are currently in police custody.

"Two imitation firearms were recovered.

"The public were not at risk at any point."

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call West Midlands Police on 101, quoting incident reference number 1534 of May 12.
