Shocking CCTV footage has been released by police in a bid to trace the group after a boy was attacked in Tipton.

A group of men, some appearing in footage wearing hoods and carrying bats, can be seen hunting for the girl after the teenage boy was left seriously injured.

The 15-year-old girl, who had been with the injured boy, is shown clambering over the wall after he was set upon by the group.

The gang appear to be searching for the girl as she remains hidden.

Once the gang have disappeared she is able to sneak away from her hiding spot near to Aaron Manby Court.

The teenage boy was taken to hospital for treatment after the attack on February 12 at around 9.30pm.

Police say an investigation is ongoing to trace the thugs, who are reportedly aged in their 20s, and have appealed for anyone who saw details of the attack on social media to get in touch.

Officers believe it is likely they live in the Tipton area and were driving a silver colour VW Golf on the day of the attack.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "We’re appealing for anyone with information or who witnessed what happened to get in touch with police on 101.

"To remain anonymous please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

Anyone getting in contact should quote the crime number 20SW/34629F/18 in relation to the attack.
