Teenager in court after woman stabbed in chest after dropping child at nursery

A 17-year-old has appeared in court charged over the stabbing of a woman in Tipton.

The stabbing is believed to have taken place after a woman was dropping her child off at a nursery in Princes End, Tipton

The unemployed teenager, from West Bromwich, was arrested at an address in Walsall on Sunday.

The teenager appeared before Dudley Magistrates' Court this morning charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, assault, threatening a person with a blade in a public place, attempted wounding with intent, attempted robbery and two counts of robbery.

He did not enter any pleas and was remanded in youth detention to appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

A 30-year-old woman was stabbed in High Street, in Princes End, on Thursday at around 7.20am.

She is understood to be recovering at home after sustaining stab wounds.

It is thought she had dropped her child off at a nearby nursery when the incident happened.
