West Midlands Police carried out the drugs raid in Sandon Road, Oxley, where the plants were seized on Tuesday.

When a constable removed the house's front-door lock using a specialist drilling kit, the police team found more than 100 plants in an insulated room complete with lights, heating and ventilation equipment.

Meanwhile the occupant was fast asleep in bed.

Officers said the 'giveaway' was the fact there was no snow on the roof of the house, unlike all the nearby properties.

Officers from Low Hill tweeted: "We had to force entry into the address in Sandon Road as couldn’t raise the occupants.

"Pc Tromans gained entry ‘like a pro’ using one of our drilling kits and it was so quiet the occupant was still asleep in bed when we got inside."

A 20-year-old male was arrested from the address on suspicion of cultivating cannabis.
