Tragic Arthur's family pay tribute as £10,000 reward is offered

Arthur passed away in hospital on December 11, three weeks after he was viciously beaten and robbed in his own home in Sutton Coldfield on the evening of 21 November.

He was repeatedly punched and kicked and then left in a pool of blood on the floor of his home in Endwood Drive.

National charity Crimestoppers is offering up to £10,000 in cash for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible for this sickening crime.

Two men aged 42 and 34, and two women aged 33 and 29, all from Birmingham, were arrested on Tuesday and remain in custody.

A spokesperson for Arthur's family said: "The true impact of this has not hit us yet. Our dad was always a very important person in our lives and was loved very much by us all.

"He truly was a person that not only us as a family, but the people that knew him, looked up to and respected.

"Words can't express the extent of our loss. His children, his grandchildren and his four little great grandchildren have lost an important figure in our lives.

"He will always be in our thoughts and we pray to God that he will get justice for this despicable and unnecessary act."

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Dan Ison, said: "Crimes of this nature cannot go unpunished, and I want to reassure Arthur's family that every effort is now being made to bring those responsible to justice.

"They are being supported by specially trained officers, and I would ask that their privacy is respected at this sad time to allow them to grieve."
