Black Country murder suspect in court over teenager found dead in wardrobe
A man charged with murdering a 17-year-old girl whose body was found in a clingfilm-wrapped wardrobe at a Black Country flat has appeared in court.
Ashley Foster, aged 24, of no fixed address, denies murdering Megan Bills between April 13 and 20. Her body was discovered at a flat in Highgate Road, Brierley Hill.
Today's hearing at Wolverhampton Crown was to deal with preliminary matters ahead of a trial due to start on January 8. He was remanded in custody by Judge James Burbidge QC.
Earlier this year Foster admitted preventing the lawful and decent burial of Miss Bills between April 15 and May 5.
The family of Miss Bills said in a statement issued after her death: “We are devastated by the loss of our daughter whose life has so unnecessarily been cut short.
"Whilst nothing can fill the huge gap in our family life that Megan’s passing has left we trust that in time we will have answers that will help us understand why this dreadful event has occurred.”
