Murder probe launched as man found stabbed to death

A man was stabbed to death at a Midlands home after trouble flared, prompting a murder investigation.

Police confirmed they arrested a man on suspicion of murder after the victim was found with knife wounds.

Officers were called to the house in Cherry Close, Bewdley, at around 11.30pm on Sunday, to reports of a disturbance.

A 45-year-old man was found with fatal knife wounds to his neck and abdomen. He died at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

West Mercia Police said a 30-year-old man from Bewdley has been arrested and he remained in custody on Monday.

West Mercia Police Detective Chief Inspector Leighton Harding said; "We would very much like to speak to anyone who witnessed a disturbance either in or around Cherry Close.

"If anyone saw anything that could help us establish the details of what happened, please call officers on 101."

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101 quoting 840 of 17 September or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
