Fast-growing franchise Anytime Fitness is opening on the site of The Grapevine pub in Brewery Street, Rugeley.

It plans to bring members and the community together at the 24/7 fitness club.

The pub closed more than a year ago and has undergone an extensive transformation and fit out.

The team is planning to turn the club into a new social hub for Rugeley, hosting a series of community-based events and providing its members with benefits and discounts at several local businesses.

The club has an open to view period running from Monday, November 5 to November 13 where prospective members can get a first glimpse of the new club ahead of the grand opening and try out classes on its busy timetable which will see over 40 hours of instructor-led classes a week.

“I’m delighted to be able to bring Anytime Fitness to Rugeley and want the club to become an integral part of the community,” said Anytime Fitness Rugeley owner Paul Coleman.

“For us, it’s not just about getting people through the gym doors, we want to give back to a town that is renowned for its tight-knit community. We’ve already hosted a series of free fitness boot camps for people in Rugeley that have been fantastically well attended and this is an example of one of many initiatives we want to run alongside the club.”

The club will be manned throughout the day and those visiting outside of those hours will access the club via a key fob. The club will be monitored remotely at all times.

“People won’t realise how big the site is. The club will feature a dedicated cardio area, free weights zone, strength training machines, a studio which will have a comprehensive class timetable as well as a functional training room. Rather than a communal changing area, our club has private en-suite style changing facilities including a toilet and shower to offer members privacy and convenience.

“We want our members to socialise outside of the club too and all our members will receive 25% off at Costa in Rugeley and Hednesford when they show their fob; this is an example of one of the many benefits that we want to provide our members with," added Mr Coleman.

The monthly membership rate will be £32.95 but discounted rates are available before the grand opening. The monthly cost is £26.95 until Friday 2nd November and rises to £28.95 from 3rd November until the grand opening.
