New owner for Whitegates
A Wolverhampton estate agency has had a change of ownership.
The Whitegates branch, which has operated from Darlington Street in the West Midlands city for the past 30 years, has been acquired by Perdip Johal.
The former managing director of The Lettings Shop in West Bromwich has transferred more than 100 managed properties from her former venture into the Whitegates Wolverhampton stable, taking the branch’s total managed properties beyond 300.
Perdip, who completed her re-sale deal at the branch at the end of May, said: “It’s started really well as we are doing around four or five valuations every day and people are saying that they dealt with us 10 or 15 years ago, so that shows how established the Whitegates brand is in the area. That kind of thing is exactly what I want to hear.
“We brought over around 140 properties from The Lettings Shop so we’ve now got 340 managed properties at Whitegates Wolverhampton.”
The University of Wolverhampton law graduate'sproperty career began with fellow Property Franchise Group brand Martin & Co in the city before she branched out on her own with The Lettings Shop.
The 29-year-old added: “I felt that running an independent lettings agency wasn’t working as well as it had before. It’s so competitive against more established agents and also the onset of online-only agents.
“I felt coming back into the Property Franchise Group would work better for me, having that established and larger brand behind me. As soon as the opportunity to purchase the Whitegates office in Wolverhampton came up, I was interested and I am delighted to be back in Wolverhampton running a trusted and successful office like Whitegates.”
Property Franchise Group has six brands across the UK market: Martin & Co, EweMove, CJ Hole, Ellis & Co, Parkers and Whitegates.
