The event organisers will also be working with Shropshire Council, North Shropshire College, Faccenda and Telford College to bring the show to the region on Thursday, March 8, from midday to 7.30pm at The International Centre, Telford.

The show is the largest of its kind this side of the NEC in Birmingham and aims to promote local apprenticeship opportunities to people across Telford, Shropshire and the wider West Midlands. In 2017, the show attracted 3,500 delegates and 2018 promises to be even bigger and better.

Apprenticeships are a great way to build the workforce of tomorrow and are now seen as a very viable alternative to university. The show is also a great opportunity for businesses to showcase careers and jobs that exist now and in the future.

Stand bookings are now being taken for the 2018 show (until the end of January). Nearly all of the stands have already been booked so we recommend booking as soon as possible. Stand prices start from as little as £50.

Councillor Lee Carter, cabinet member for finance, commercial services and economic development, said: “We’re determined to do all we can to provide good learning and employment opportunities for our residents so we are delighted to be announcing The Apprenticeship Show will return for its third year.

“The Show is a great opportunity for local people to apply for or find out about the hundreds of opportunities available.

“Apprenticeships are now a real alternative to higher education, giving you the qualifications of traditional study alongside work experience while getting paid.

“We’re hoping that the event will help to dispel some of the misconceptions around apprenticeships, for example that they are only for 16 year olds. The Army offers apprenticeships up to 32 years and many firms will consider anyone, regardless of age.

“We will have lots of local and national employers at the Apprenticeship Show with 100s of opportunities for people to apply for and find out more about.”
