Caminul Felix, an orphanage based in western Romania, has been supporting the needs of the orphaned and abandoned children of Romania since 1990.

The independent Christian organisation has worked together with a Stourbridge church Amblecote Christian Centre, which appealed for items to be sent to the children for Christmas.

The team at Gallagher, based in Custom House, The Waterfront, Brierley Hill, contributed to filling shoeboxes for the children containing essential items, including deodorant, body lotion, shampoo and conditioner, along with some treats including pens and paper, nail varnish and other beauty products. Alongside these shoeboxes, the team donated a significant amount of clothing.

Sarita Pearson, sales and marketing co-ordinator at Gallagher, was joined by colleagues Marie Woodhouse and Emma Edwards, who spent a day collecting and sorting the donations from the Gallagher office and from local schools and communities.

“We were extremely proud of the achievements from last year and wanted to continue the donations for a second year. Christmas is the time for children to feel loved and supported, and our gifts play a small part to ensuring the orphans have a reason to smile this festive season," said Sarita.

The team also volunteered to help collect a total of more than 250 boxes from other donors and deliver them to the collection point. The delivery lorry drove all the way from Romania especially for the collection and has successfully delivered the gifts to the orphanage in time for Christmas.
