The University of Wolverhampton will host the Women in Business event

The Women in Business: Championing Equality and Diversity event will take place on January 23.

The conference and networking event will include insights from inspiring speakers, as well as opportunities to network with business professionals and share experiences through interactive workshops.

It will run in the University’s Chancellor’s Hall from 9.30am to 4.15pm.

Professor Clare Schofield, Director of the University of Wolverhampton Business School, said: "We are delighted to be hosting our third Women in Business event at the University themed around championing equality and diversity in business.

“We are committed to ensuring our students have access to events that build their confidence and experience, and this conference will enable them to hear from industry leaders about their journeys to success.”

Professor Julia Clarke, the University’s new Deputy Vice-Chancellor Student Experience, will present the opening keynote address at the event, and there will also be insights on women in research from the University’s Dean of Research Professor Silke Machold.

Other speakers include Debra Blisson, a PhD candidate at Aston University, who will discuss the challenges and opportunities surrounding equality and diversity in business, while Rufsana Begum, Social Development Consultant, will provide an insight into her journey on the Aurora leadership programme.

There will also be lunch and networking opportunities, and a roundtable discussion titled “What enhancements can we make to engage, encourage and inspire women into business?”
