Nachural’s CEO Ninder Johal, who was president of the Black Country Chamber of Commerce and is currently a board member of the Black Country LEP, said that Mr Dixons entrepreneurial journey is a remarkable one and shows how the UK can produce innovative businesses that lead the way in health and life sciences.

Mr Dixon founded his antibacterial and antifungal Micro-Fresh brand in 2006 and now supplies products to leading retailers such as John Lewis, Debenhams, Sainsburys, the Pentland Group, Scruffs Workwear and Avon. Mr Dixons business currently exports around 80% of his antibacterial and antifungal products around the world, where his company recently added North America, Vietnam and Pakistan to its existing operations in India, China, Portugal, Singapore and Jamaica.

‘In light of the current political upheaval, it will be enlightening to hear from Mr Dixon how his business is coping with the current political administration and previous administrations and how he thinks the global markets will fare over the short, medium and long term. We are delighted to have somebody of Mr Dixons calibre at the event and illustrates the power of an entrepreneur to generate employment and wealth in a region. We are also intrigued to find out the business was able to translate its success internationally.’

Despite the uncertainty created by impending trade wars and Brexit, the region continues to prosper well with businesses continuing to show resilience. There is a record level of inward investment and there are plans for improving the infrastructure and skills provision in the region.

‘We were over whelmed by the strength of the entries from across all sectors showing that even in uncertain times, businesses do continue to generate employment and sustainability in the region.’
