Phoenix Car Wash, on Dudley Road in Blakenhall, Wolverhampton was opened on Saturday by local councillor Jasbinder Dehar.

As well as bringing a new business to the area, its owners wanted to give back to the community and have donated two benches to be used in the nearby Phoenix Park as part of councillor Dehar's green project.

Councillor Dehar said: "As part of the green project I want to create a seating area in Phoenix Park for elderly members of the community and a plot with flowers.

"I needed two benches to create the seating area which have been kindly donated by Phoenix Car Wash.

"This is a great example of the community working together and another success story for Blakenhall ward, with another new business opening and working together with the community.

"I am honoured and humbled to have opened this business."

The petrol station site where the car wash is located has been on the site for around 60 years.

Ronit Jamgra, owner of Phoenix Car Wash, said: "We like to help the community and want to be part of that as they are around us and support us, so if we can do something to help we thought why not?

"All of the staff who work here have grown up here and seen the site develop over the years.

"There has never been a business on this site like what we have created here now.

"We are hoping to continue expanding the business and bring even more local jobs to the area and continue supporting members of the community."
