The group, Cradley Then and Now, will use the Heritage Lottery Fund cash to build a new website.

The organisation aims to promote and protect the heritage of Cradley, which is located in the Dudley borough.

It was founded in 1997 and regularly held meetings until the outbreak of coronavirus which forced them to stop.

Amid the pandemic, it has relied on the internet to communicate with its members for who are located around the world.

The £10,000 will go towards merging two websites together and launch a mailing system.

Jill Guest, the secretary of the group said: "Thanks to the National Lottery and its players we can now consolidate our two websites into one and add photographs and video archives of past images for website visitors to enjoy.

"We’re grateful that The National Lottery Heritage Fund is supporting us at this crucial time – it’s a lifeline to us and others who are passionate about sustaining heritage for the benefit of all."
