JCB secures £21m European deal with leading hire group Boels
Staffordshire digger group JCB is celebrating its biggest single order from major European plant hire firm Boels as it invests in a brand new machine fleet worth almost £21 million.
Netherlands-based Boels has signed a deal for more than 340 JCB machines – including Loadalls, midi and micro excavators – which will join Boels Rental fleets at depots across Europe including Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Austria and Italy.
The deal strengthens JCB’s long-term relationship with Boels Rental which has bought more than 1,600 JCB machines in recent years.
The machines involved in the deal are made at JCB's plants across Staffordshire but all the cab units are made at Rugeley, where the company employs 400 people.
JCB's group managing director for global key accounts, Yvette Henshall-Bell, said: “We are delighted to secure this major order from one of Europe’s leading plant and tool hire companies. We have worked closely with Boels for many years and it’s testament to the quality of our range of Loadalls and excavators as well as the world-class service back-up that we’ve secured this valuable business.”
Boels' director of fleet operation, Guy Cremer, added: "Boels Rental is one of the largest rental companies in Europe and we continue to grow year on year by increasing our fleet with the best equipment available. Our decision to buy JCB was based on the quality and efficiency of the product as well as the excellent aftermarket support we receive from JCB throughout Europe. Boels and JCB are both family businesses sharing many common values and I am glad that our long standing partnership continues."
Boels Rental is one of Europe’s leading machinery, tools, modular accommodation and event equipment rental companies. It is active in 17 European countries and has more than 400 branches.
