The British rower will join staff and the public to officially open Willenhall's new Aldi store.

She will cut the all-important ribbon at the Coppice Farm Way store at 8am on August 22.

Store manager Mark Yates said: “We can’t wait to finally open the doors to the new store in Willenhall.

"It’s set to be a special day as we’ll be celebrating the opening of Aldi’s first store in Willenhall, and having Olympic hero, Katherine, join us will make it a morning to remember.”

The new store boasts 1,254 sqm of retail space, with exclusive offers expected on opening day.

The first 30 customers through the doors will also receive a complimentary bag of fresh fruit and vegetables from Aldi’s fantastic Super 6 range.

Copeland added: “I’m so excited to be opening Aldi’s new store.

"It will be great way for me to give back to the local community and a lovely way for me to thank Aldi for its ongoing support of Team GB.”
