Two hurt in crash on A442 near Quatt

Two people were taken to hospital after their car left the road at Quatt near Bridgnorth today.

The crash happened on the A442 at about 3pm, near to Dudmaston pools.

Firefighters who responded to 999 calls said that the vehicle had left the road and ended up in a precarious position on a grass bank.

Fire crews including those from the rescue tender and incident support unit had to use cutting equipment to rescue two occupants from the car by 3.30pm.

The air ambulance joined land ambulances and the two casualties were taken to hospital.

Bridgnorth police said that the Bridgnorth to Kidderminster road was closed from the island at the bottom of Bridgnorth bypass towards Kidderminster and urged drivers to use an alternative route.
