The 228 service was withdrawn from Wallows Road last year by Hansons Bus Company in April.

It was withdrawn after the service, which runs from Kinver to Brierley Hill, was extended to Russells Hall Hospital.

Residents living on the road instead have to use a stop on Pensnett Road.

Brockmoor and Pensnett councillors are set to launch a petition and present in to Transport For West Midlands which commissions bus services.

Diamond Bus now operates the route.

Councillor Judy Foster said: "We agree with residents that the distance and steep terrain makes it difficult to access bus services.

"There is also a very busy road to cross to get to the alternative bus stop identified.

"This is a very unsatisfactory situation and so we are inviting residents to sign our petition to re-instate the service on Wallows Road’’.

Councillors intend to present the petition to the upcoming Dudley Network review scheduled for July 2018
