The body found in woodland on the edge the Trossachs National Park in central Scotland, near Loch Lomond, several weeks ago has only just been identified.

Police were called on January 24 when the discovery close to Keltie Bridge Caravan Park was made but were unable to identify the remains, with forensic analysis taking weeks to complete. It is not known how long he had lain there.

The caravan site was closed for the winter season but the tourist spot continued to be popular with visitors and dog walkers.

Staffordshire Police today said they were not aware of the matter and had no outstanding missing person cases matching the description of the deceased, whose name has not yet been released.

Scottish police initially described the death as 'unexplained' but have now said they are not treating it as suspicious.
