Instructors Donna Eccleston and Maggie Palmer will lead the Dancing Through the Decades event – celebrating 100 years of dance styles for Compton Care.

The Wolverhampton-based charity helps look after people across the city.

The event will take place at the Wombourne High School in Ounsdale Road on November 3.

Donna, who owns DME Fitness, said: "Dance Through the Decades has been organised in aid of Compton Care.

"We will be taking a whirlwind tour of dance styles from the past 100 years with music from the stage, screen, pop and rock all being included in the mix. There will be simple choreography and lots of fun and laughter along the journey through time.

“I wanted to host this event for Compton because many of our members have been touched by cancer and have needed the services that Compton offers. They have all spoken very highly of the care they received. It’s a charity very close to the hearts of the DME Fitness ladies.”

Registration opens at 1pm on the day, with the class beginning at 1.30pm until 4pm.

Dawn Smith, fundraiser for the charity, said: "Whether you’re a complete beginner or a dancing queen, Dance Through the Decades is a really fun and lively way to get moving in support of Compton Care.

“At Compton, we provide care and support for patients and their families living with complex and incurable conditions across Wolverhampton and the Black Country, but we can only do this with the generous support of the public.

"Every pound raised from this event will enable us to offer people the care and support they need to live the best life possible.”

The class costs £12 per person.
