The self-styled 'German Comedy Ambassador to the United Kingdom' will headline Funny Beeseness’ popular Live At The Civic at the town’s Civic Hall on Saturday, February 8.

Wehn has appeared on Live At The Apollo and a host of panel shows including Would I Lie To You, QI, Have I Got News For You and Room 101.

He will be supported on the night by Roger Monkhouse, a regular Comedy Store and Glee Club headliner, and 'Scouse scally' Nige, the comedy creation of Keith Carter.

Resident MC Wayne Beese will again take on the hosting duties and said he was delighted with the line-up.

Speaking ahead of the event, Wayne said: “I’m over the moon we’ve managed to get Henning, it will be his first appearance on one of our bills and I’m sure it will be one to remember.

“He is a fantastic stand-up, and in Roger and Nige we’ve got two acts in support who’ve gone down a storm whenever we’ve booked them.

“It all makes for an amazing night of comedy, and we’d urge people to get in quick and book as Henning is usually very popular.”

Funny Beeseness has been running quarterly shows at the Civic, in Bank Street, for the past three years. Previous acts to appear include Joe Lycett, Ross Noble, Jonathan Pie, Joel Dommett, Rachel Parris, Seann Walsh and more.

The next show there is on Saturday, November 16, where Tom Stade headlines a bill also featuring Christian Reilly and Johnny Sorrow.
