Halesowen's Startime Variety will put on the Cinderella pantomime at Netherton Arts Centre in Dudley later this month in memory of Mike Clifford.

The pantomime is written and produced by Startime member Tina Lily in memory of Mike, who wrote and produced pantomimes and shows for the society.

The pantomime will include new characters, such as Jazz and Hans, Giselle, Fairy G. and ugly sisters Gorgon and Zola.

Olivia Chester will take on the role of a young Cinderella, with Amelie Alderson playing the main role and Gemma Mills starring as the Prince.

Clive Ditchfield, Holly Millis and Jeanette Greenway will also be performing in the pantomime among others.

The classic will be performed with an original script, featuring songs and dances.

Jeanette Greenway, who plays the part of a town crier in the pantomime, said: "It should be a good panto. We've got a lot of new youngsters and some haven't performed before. The producer is Tina Lily and it's the first time she's produced a show for. It's for Mike Clifford – he passed away last year and the produced many shows and pantos for us over the years and it's in dedication to him partly.

"We're at a new venue for the first time, too."

Ms Greenway, who has been a member of Startime Variety for 46 years, said the performers had been rehearsing for the show since September.
