RuPaul's Drag Race queens to compete in Roast Battles tour coming to Birmingham tomorrow

Various stars from RuPaul's Drag Race will go head to head in the Roast Battles show coming to Birmingham tomorrow.

Season eight winner Bob the Drag Queen, season seven runner-up Ginger Minj, season four star Phi Phi O'Hara, season eight contestant Thorgy Thor and season 10 queens Monique Heart and Monet X Change will perform at the O2 Academy show later this year.

The queens will battle in a series of comedy rounds to become the Roast Queen Champion.

The show will be compèred by Tonight Show with Jay Leno correspondent and regular Drag Race judge, Ross Mathews.

Ross began his career as an intern behind the scenes on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

In 2001, the 39-year-old television personality covered movie premieres, the Academy Awards, two Winter Olympic Games and more.

He has contributed to commentary to the E! network, and in 2010 joined their red carpet team.

In 2015 he was named as a new regular judge for the seventh season of RuPaul's Drag Race alongside actor and designer Carson Kressley.

Christopher Caldwell, also known as Bob the Drag Queen, won the eighth season of Drag Race.

The 32-year-old queen has since released a series of singles and a podcast called Sibling Rivalry on SoundCloud alongside fellow Drag Race star Monet X Change.

Bob also appeared as a guest co-host alongside All Stars Three winner Trixie Mattel on The Trixie and Katya Show.

Ginger Minj appeared on season seven of Drag Race as well as spin-off series All Stars Two.

The queen has since released two full-length studio albums, appeared in Netflix Original series Super Drags, and is also set to star in upcoming musical comedy film Dumplin'.

Last year Ginger was married to his husband by Michelle Visage at a DragCon convention.

Season four and All Stars Two queen Phi Phi O'Hara is best known for her 365 Days of Drag looks that she posted on social media in 2016.

Following her appearances on the show, the star has released music as Phi Phi since 2014, as well as his own name, Jaremi Carey, since 2015.

In 2017 Phi Phi organized a drag benefit show to raise funds for the victims of Hurricane Irma in Puerto Rico, which featured other Drag Race alumni and raised $80,000.

This year, the queen made an appearance on Celebrity Big Brother's Bit On The Side with Kim Woodburn, Richard Blackwood and Andrew Brady.

Thorgy Thor is the stage name of Shane Thor Galligan, an American drag queen and musician most known for competing on season eight of Drag Race as well as All Stars Three.

Since then the queen won the LEGEND award at the 2014 Brooklyn Nightlife Awards, and has performed with string instruments at the Le Poisson Rouge, the Lincoln Center and the Carnegie Hall.

This year Thorgy started her own symphony Orchestra, Thorchestra, and conducted for the first time in Halifax.

Monet, the drag alter-ego of 28-year-old Kevin Bertin, competed on season 10 of the hit reality show.

She went on to become a fan favourite contestant, and was crowned Miss Congeniality for her season.

Monet has since gone on to become a co-host on podcast Sibling Rivalry, and appeared as a guest in an episode of What Would You Do.

The star went on to release her first single, Soak It Up, earlier this year on the same day as her elimination episode on Drag Race.

Fellow season ten queen Monique Heart will also feature on the tour.

The queen, created by 32-year-old performer Kevin Richardson, placed eighth during her season.

She has since gone on to perform on tours alongside her fellow Drag Race sisters, as well as appear in the music video for Monet X Change's single Soak It Up.
