More than 10,400 tickets have been sold – smashing the total figure of the last four Stafford Festival Shakespeare productions with a week of performances remaining and is on course to be one of the most successful ever staged at Stafford Castle.

The show opened on June 28 and organisers expect the final show be fast-selling.

Stafford Festival Shakespeare spokesman, Thomas Waldron, said: “It’s been an absolutely incredible opening run! Five star reviews, record ticket sales and gorgeous sunshine throughout – this year’s show really has had everything.

“On behalf of everyone at Stafford Festival Shakespeare, we would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to our loyal audiences who, as ever, have been incredible in their support for the production. And to anyone who hasn’t yet seen the show – don’t delay, make sure you book your ticket before the run ends this weekend.”
