The event was launched in 2011 to provide entertainment and improve safety for people going to V Festival waiting for National Express transport from Stafford train station to Weston Park.

Despite V Festival not taking place this year, the two-day event will still go ahead as a standalone festival.

This year's event will celebrate the life of Aethelflaed the Warrior Queen and King Alfred the Greats’ daughter with a costume competition. Visitors are challenged to come as a knight, lady, peasant, noble, film or TV character set in the middle ages.

The volunteer team behind the event

For a gold coin donation, children can take part in a knighting ceremony and become a ‘Sir’ or ‘Lady’ and receive a certificate to prove their peerage to their friends.

Donations will be split with two chosen charities - AED Donate and Staffordshire Search and Rescue Team (SSART), which will both will have stands at the event. AED Donate will be selling raffle tickets to win a brand new car.

Other entertainment includes inflatables, a rodeo bull, assault course, Konnective Arts storytelling tent, birds of prey, playbus, wandering minstrels, drumming workshops, and appearances from Chase, Rocky and Rubble from Paw Patrol, Peppa Pig, Minions and Bob the Builder.

Dance Fusion

There will be food vendors serving everything from hot dogs to pancakes, pork baps to Polish and Indian cuisine, and for the first time at the event we will have a fully stocked bar at pub prices.

Q in the Park will take place from August 18 to 19.
