The Hednesford Summer Festival returns to Hednesford Park for its third year running.

The free event, which is run by the Hednesford in Partnership group, will feature wide-ranging activities for the whole family to enjoy.

Paul Woodhead, Chairman of the organising committee, said the event was an important step for community togetherness.

"The aim is to try to bring all the bits of our community together at the park," Mr Woodhead said "we have around 108 different organisations and groups coming together to give back to the community."

The event will comprise a stage with a number of musical acts from the area performing, whilst a display of around 70 classic cars, bikes and trucks will be on show at the park.

For the kids, the popular Grow Up Great Zone returns - with activities including a toddler area, Punch and Judy shows, bouncing castles and slides, fun fair rides and a dog agility show.

Parents can browse up to 65 market stalls run by local businesses and community groups. A tug-o-war competition is also being held.

The community and council-funded festival takes place from 11am until 4pm at Hednesford Park, Victoria Street on August 11.
