Miss Dowden, who runs a ballroom and Latin school in Dudley, stormed out of rehearsals after being shouted at by her celebrity partner, according to a national newspaper report.

Mr John-Jules, a former Red Dwarf and Death in Paradise actor, is reported to have been given a final warning by show bosses, while The Sun claimed that he 'swears and shouts' at his partner a lot.

Mr John-Jules, aged 58, has denied the reports and spoke out angrily about the claims on Twitter.

Miss Dowden, a 27-year-old award-winning dancer, has kept her silence on the matter but has since tweeted a photograph of the pair looking happy with Lorraine Kelly on the set of the ITV show.

Last month, they achieved the first ten out of ten score of the series as they dazzled the judges with their action-packed jive routine.

But the pair failed to impress with their quickstep, landing at the bottom of the leader board with a score of 22 on Saturday before being saved from elimination.

This week they will be hoping to win over the judges by dancing the Samba to Feels Like Home.

Miss Dowden joined Strictly in 2017and made it to the fifth week with comedian partner Brian Conley before being eliminated.

She won the 2017 British National Championships, is a four-time British National Finalist and reached the semi-final of the World Championship in 2015.

Miss Dowden, originally from Caerphilly in Wales, runs dance academy Art in Motion on the Thornleigh Trading Estate with her partner Ben Jones.
