Blind Dave film 7 Days gets online release

A film telling the story of charity champion Blind Dave Heeley has had a full online release.

People will be able to watch 7 Days: The Story of Blind Dave Heeley from this week.

It is available online on streaming service Reelhouse and will be available on Amazon Prime by December.

The drama focuses on the West Bromwich fundraisers bid to become the first blind man to run seven marathons in seven days on seven continents.

He followed in the footsteps of adventurer Sir Ranulph Fiennes, who is also the patron of the film.

The film also documents Dave’s childhood and the barriers he had to overcome throughout his life.

The keen West Bromwich Albion fan, aged 60, has raised over three million pounds for various charities during the last 15 years by doing a series of ultra-distance races and challenges around the world.

Many of his challenges have raised money for West Brom's charitable arm The Albion Foundation.

The 45-minute film was made by the Birmingham team of producer Nigel Davey and directors Ian and Dominic Higgins of Pixel Revolution Films.

The film had its premiere at the Birmingham Rep Theatre in February and also had a screening at The Hawthorns.

The film has already picked up awards in Los Angeles and Italy.

Producer Nigel said" ''We didn’t make the film because of what Blind Dave Heeley as done, we made it because of who he is, a complete inspiration to anyone who meets him'

Co-director Ian added: “We were looking around the world for an uplifting story and found an incredible one in our own neck of the woods.”

The cast includes, London based actor Jack Lane, who plays Dave and Birmingham born Sarah Manners who plays his wife, Debbie.

Sarah is best known to audiences for her role in the TV drama Casualty.
