The musician, who featured in The Star's Unsigned column in 2017, has a headline tour to look forward to in March, will be working together with BBC Introducing West Midlands and will be gearing up to the release of a new EP later on in 2020.

It will be his first EP since 2017's At First A Drop, Then A Flood - recorded in his hometown at RML Studios with Ryan Pinson, based at the Newhampton Arts Centre.

And Ohm says the band - Ste Ashford on guitar, Sam Jenkins banging the drums and bassist Hannah Maiden - "can't wait for the new year".

"We have been sitting on some of our best work to date which the band and I can't wait to share with the world," he continued.

It will be played to the public for the first time at the Newhampton Arts Centre, on Dunkley Street, on March 6 as part of a BBC Introducing West Midlands 'Presents' night in association with Birmingham Promoters.

And after that they will head to Nottingham, London, Liverpool and Glasgow to play the new material.

"We feel massively privileged to be kicking the release off at the Newhampton Arts Centre," Ohm continued. This is going to be one for people to remember.

"It's been such a blast writing and rehearsing with these guys. They're amazing musicians and we're all on the same wavelength. The songs seem to fall into place very naturally. We've had some amazing feedback from the live shows we have already played together."

Before the EP arrives, Ohm is releasing the single Going Nowhere Fast on February 28, 2020, the first since 2018's Fractures (Little Wonder). It was recorded, like most of the EP, at Pirate Studios in London with mixing being handled back at RML Studios.

That will be available to hear on Ohm's Spotify page when released, as will the EP when that is ready later in 2020. For more updates on these, folow Alex Ohm on Twitter @AlexOhmmusic
