Bands and artists put on a show at WolvesFest at the city's rugby club on Castlecroft Road.

Around 500 people came out to hear the tunes from 14 live acts, and though numbers were down on last year, with the wet weather leading up to the event not ideal for organisers, large crowds enjoyed the show.

Organiser Shaun Ryan said: "Everyone who was there enjoyed themselves. The weather put a few people off but we were busy all the way through. As usual, it was a family-friendly event.

"Some people get it in their mind that because it is a festival they are going to get muddy but the vast majority of the event is indoors anyway."

Truesday were among bands that performed

Local lads Runaway Hounds, from Wolverhampton, went down a storm with the crowd with their set, while Liverpool band The Sums were another to perform.

Shaun, who is already looking ahead to next year's show, said: "Runaway Hounds were absolutely superb. The Sums, who are big mates with Noel Gallagher, were very impressed with this young band."

He added: "We will be back with a vengeance next year and will be trying to give exposure to even more young bands."
