The 1975 announce Birmingham show

Indie rockers The 1975 will play Birmingham as part of their UK and Ireland tour next year.

The Manchester quartet fronted by Matt Healy, the son of actors Denise Welch and Tim Healy, has also announced that eagerly-anticipated third studio album A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships will be released on November 30 ahead of the tour.

Formed in 2002, the band is best known for hit songs such as Chocolate, Girls, Heart Out, UGH!, The Sound, Robbers and Somebody Else.

In 2017, the band won the Brit Award for Best British Group.

The 1975 will play Arena Birmingham on January 23.

They will be supported at the show by Pale Waves and No Rome.

Tickets go on sale from 9am this Friday.
