Music and merriment at Birmingham, Solihull, and Sandwell Jazz Festival - in photos
The sound of saxophones were heard across the county as the Sandwell Jazz Festival hit full swing.
Sandwell co-hosted the festival alongside Birmingham and Solihull, holding a series of events up until the end of last week.
The festival kicked off on July 20 at the Central Library in West Bromwich, welcoming a number of jazz classics including a special homecoming for West Bromwich-born jazz legend Val Wisemen who opened the festival, joined by Councillor Steve Trow and Mayor of Sandwell Councillor Joy Edis.
The jazz act Art Themen Quartet wowed audiences at The Oak House Museum in West Bromwich two days later as the festival warmed up.
Councillor Steve Trow, Sandwell Council's cabinet member for culture and core council services, said: "Audiences are enjoying a wide variety of music at our libraries, museums and other venues across Sandwell, with a host of international and homegrown musicians.
"The festival fun continues over the weekend, it's a great chance for people from Sandwell and the rest of the Black Country to enjoy entertaining performances close to home."
Over 30 free events got the people of the West Midlands swinging last week, with Sandwell home to the majority of them.
