Slam Dunk Festival 2018: Top acts not to miss

This is the event's fifth year in the Midlands, and the 12th Slam Dunk Festival since it began in 2006.

Good Charlotte - Jagermeister Stage

Maryland rockers Good Charlotte will joint-headline this year's Slam Dunk Festival.

The quintet formed in 1996 and are best known for songs such as The Anthem, Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, and Girls and Boys.

The group released their sixth studio album, Youth Authority, in 2016.

Jimmy Eat World - Monster Stage

This year's Slam Dunk Festival is the first to have two headline acts, and set to perform alongside Good Charlotte are Arizona rockers Jimmy Eat World.

Formed in 1993. the quintet have released nine full-length studio albums and sold over one and a half million records.

The group are best known for hit songs such as Sweetness, Pain, Big Casino and The Middle.

Reel Big Fish - Fireball Stage

Ska legends Reel Big Fish will headline this year's Fireball Stage.

The California sextet formed in 1991, and gained mainstream recognition in the mid-to-late 1990s, during the third wave of ska with the release of the gold certified album Turn the Radio Off.

The band are best-known for a number of hit songs, such as Sell Out, Beer, She Has a Girlfriend Now, Don't Start A Band, and a cover of A-Ha's Take On Me.

The Audition - Jagermeister Stage

Pop punk quintet The Audition have reunited for the first time since 2012 to play Slam Dunk Festival.

The Illinois quintet formed in 2003 and released four full-length studio albums, featuring songs such as Don't Be So Hard, Warm Me Up, My Temperature's Rising and You've Made Us Conscious.

The group split in 2012 following the release of E.P Chapter II.

Taking Back Sunday - Monster Stage

Emo icons Taking Back Sunday will return to Slam Dunk Festival to play this year's Monster Stage.

The New York quartet are best known for hit tracks such as A Decade Under the Influence, MakeDamnSure and Cute Without the 'E'.

The group have released seven full-length studio albums, and even appeared on an episode of children's TV series Yo Gabba Gabba in 2009.

Every Time I Die - Impericon Stage

Metalcore fans will be in for a treat when Every Time I Die headline Slam Dunk Festival's Impericon Stage.

The New York quintet are well-known for their energetic live performances, as well as for songs such as We're Wolf, Decayin' With the Boys, It Remembers and Map Change.

Their eighth and latest studio album, Low Teens, was released in 2016.

Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes - Jagermeister Stage

Former Gallows and Pure Love frontman Frank Carter will bring his new project to this year's Slam Dunk Festival.

Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes formed in 2015 and have released two full-length studio albums.

The Hertfordshire punk rockers are known for songs such as I Hate You, Devil Inside Me, Snake Eyes and Wild Flowers.

Lower Than Atlantis - Monster Stage

Lower Than Atlantis return to Slam Dunk Festival to play an energetic set on the Monster Stage.

The Hertfordshire quartet released their debut album, Far Q, in 2010. The band have since released a further four full-length records including hit songs such as Another Sad Song, Words Don't Come So Easily, English Kids in America and Here We Go.

The band have played alongside the likes of All Time Low, Dinosaur Pile-Up and A Day To Remember, and have also played the NME stage at Reading and Leeds Festival.

Twin Atlantic - Monster Stage

Twin Atlantic will also make a return to Slam Dunk Festival this year.

The Scottish rockers have released four full-length studio albums since their formation in 2007 including hit songs Free, Yes I Was Drunk, Crash Land and Make a Beast of Myself.

Radio One DJ Annie Mac premiere's the quartet's song No Sleep as the Hottest Record in the World.

Templeton Pek - Fireball Stage

Birmingham ska band Templeton Pek will delight crowds at Slam Dunk's Fireball Stage.

The trio celebrated ten years of being a band last year, and released their brand new album Watching The World Come Undone this year.

The band have shared stages with the likes of The Offspring, Rise Against, Bad Religion, Sum 41, NOFX, Alkaline Trio, Lagwagon, Millencolin, Zebrahead, Ignite, Pennywise and more.
