Stuart Deeley, who is currently Head Chef of The Wilderness restaurant in Birmingham, is being put through his paces as part of the competition.

He returned to the college on Monday, December 9, to work with Level Two and Three professional cookery students to share some of his experiences and demonstrate some of the dishes he has produced while on the show.

Chris Hughes, catering lecturer at Halesowen College, said: “It is always great to welcome Stuart back to college, he really inspires the students with his rise to success and now his time on TV.

“We are all very proud of him and wish him the best of luck with the competition.”

Stuart added: “As a former student at Halesowen College, I fully endorse the City and Guilds qualifications offered within the catering department.

"They equipped me with the skills I needed to get into the industry and offer students the opportunity to gain employment at the highest level.”

Stuart also opened the college’s newly refurbished restaurant, Bistro at B63, which is open for bookings via the Halesowen College website.
