Lee Ralph and Gemma Mills star in the production of Beauty and the Beast

The pantomime, presented by Startime Variety, will run at the Cornbow Hall in Halesowen from 17 to 20 January, and tickets are available to buy now.

Publicity officer and member of the chorus, Jeanette Greenway, said the fact it was an original script, written by 20-year-old Holly Mills, was what made this pantomime so special.

She said: "We do a panto every year, and have been for the last 50 years. We did Beauty and the Beast back in 2004, where my son Neil was actually the Beast, but it's a completely new script this time.

"It was written by our writer and producer, Holly, completely - it's nice to have a bit of originality isn't it? There are even some original new roles such as Boone, Garçon, Hickory Dickory, Bobbin, Papa and a narrator - all made up by Holly.

"There's singing and dancing and plenty of laughter - it's a panto that should not be missed."

Beauty and the Beast is the second pantomime Holly has written and produced, after her success with Sleeping Beauty in 2017.

The production will be shown from Wednesday to Saturday at 7.15pm with a matinee show on Saturday at 2.15pm.

Tickets cost £10 for adults and £9 for concessions. A family ticket (two adults with two children under 16) costs £35. Visit startimevariety.co.uk or call 07901 055685 to purchase.
