Thousands of people will descend on Stafford's Market Square and its surrounding streets for this weekend's event.

It will be the sixth time the festival has come to the region, brining artisan cheeses and brewed ales.

Councillor Frances Beatty, Stafford Borough Council's cabinet member for economic development and planning, said: "The festival has had a phenomenal few years, attracting so many people to the town, and this weekend is shaping up to be just as popular.

“The event is in such a great setting in the heart of our county town and we know it pulls in crowds from across Staffordshire and beyond with traders telling us about the excellent business they conducted in previous years.”

The food festival, which has been organised by Cocker Hoop Creative, the borough council and the Town Centre partnership, will start at 9am on Saturday.

Guest chefs from the Great British Bake Off will flaunt their talents in the cookery theatre, while there will also be music and children's activities.

Stalls will line the streets with food and drink traders showcasing their products, alongside a range of tasting opportunities for shoppers and visitors.
