New store Jottie's Desserts has opened in Burntwood and was named after Mark and Emma Chadwick's two children - Joseph and Lottie.

As well as all the treats with the usual ingredients, the Rugeley Road store offers specialist versions for people with dietary requirements.

Seven-year-old Joe is celiac and five-year-old Lottie suffers from Mast Cell Activation Syndrome which means she has around 10 allergies.

So Emma, a former children's nurse, said she decided to buy a shop she used to provide cakes for and create a menu which could be available for all.

The 38-year-old said: "Our menu is a little bit different because we have an extensive Free From menu as well as our standard menu.

"Everybody is going to be able to eat exactly the same, whether it's a life choice or if people have an intolerance.

"That's how we live our everyday lives as my son is celiac and he's had problems since he was little.

"He couldn't drink cow's milk but now since cutting out gluten he can and he has gained weight.

"With Lottie's disorder, you could test her for every food and it would come back that she isn't allergic, but when she eats them she has allergic reactions.

"She's allergic to things like bananas and wheat, so all the kids at school have to wash their hands before coming into class.

"The kids have tried the lot, they think it's the best place in the world because they can eat what they want and know it's safe.

"I have to have separate equipment for the specialist food, to be certain there is no cross contamination.

"We will also be holding autism-friendly sessions at the store twice a week in the New Year so everybody can come and enjoy it."

Desserts can be eaten in or taken away from Jottie's Desserts.
