Beer lovers are expected to consumer 28,000 pints over the five-day Great British Beer Festival Winter in Birmingham.

More than 400 beers, ciders and perries will be on offer at the event organised by the Campaign for Real Ale (Camra) at New Bingley Hall from February 4-8.

Billed ‘the Festival of a Thousand Trades’, the event will celebrate the West Midlands’ industry, diversity and creativity throughout time.

In addition to hundreds of ales representing the region and the wider UK, there will also be a range of spirits and non-alcoholic options.

Alongside the drinks, the festival will feature games and activities, musical entertainment, a range of food stalls, and a selection of tastings and talks for those looking to expand their knowledge.

Festival creative director David Glenwright said: “We’re incredibly excited to host the Great British Beer Festival Winter in Birmingham for the first time.

"The festival moves around the country every three years to give beer drinkers across every corner of the UK the chance to sample a huge range of fantastic brews. Birmingham is the ideal home this year as we have a rich heritage of food and drinks that can be represented at the festival."

Tickets priced £7-£19 are on sale now through the website winter.gbbf.org.uk/tickets/
