Kingsman: The Golden Circle was filmed in central Birmingham last May in locations including Colmore Row, Waterloo Street, Edmund Street, Margaret Street and Cornwall Street.

The shoot involved a car chase between a black cab and three golden Jaguars – which has featured in the TV spot and official trailer for the film.

The streets around Colmore Row were closed overnight to allow for the chase scene to be filmed.

However, Birmingham stands in for London in the movie – rather than playing itself.

The movie was directed by Matthew Vaughn and stars Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, Halle Berry, Channing Tatum and Jeff Bridges.

Cast and crew were welcomed to the city by Film Birmingham, a company which aims to make filming 'as easy and efficient as possible by providing a one stop shop for local and international filmmakers'.

As well as welcoming the 300-strong crew for Kingsman: The Golden Circle Birmingham also recently played host to legendary director Steven Spielberg who filmed a significant portion of this new film Ready Player One in the city.

Sindy Campbell, manager at Film Birmingham, said: ‘We were delighted to welcome the team from Kingsman: The Golden Circle to Birmingham and as a film friendly city it’s a great showcase of what we can offer.”

The film is in cinemas today.
