Bosses at Warwick Castle have hit back after it was criticised in a survey

In recent research by flight booking site Wingie, a ranking was made based on the number of key words indicating whether an attraction was "overrated".

But bosses – and visitors – have criticised the research after 73 per cent of guests rated the attraction as "excellent" or "very good".

A total of 40 key words and phrases, relative to the total number of reviews, was recorded, and an overall score was determined.

According to the results, the historic West Midlands castle was named as one of the most "overrated tourist spots in the world" – that's right, the entire world.

The list also mentioned some of the country's most popular places such as Bletchley Park and Stonehenge.
