The giant orange mammoth will kick off the celebration with two birthday marches through the centre on Saturday, May 25 at 12:15pm and 1.55pm, led by Andy Day himself.

A limited number of free tickets will be available for families to book to see Andy Day performing his infamous ‘Dino Rap’, and for the official first reading of the new ‘Where’s Marmalade?’ storybook during sessions at 12:20pm and 2pm.

A Marmalade party zone will be located on the lower mall near the customer service desk from 11am-4pm, complete with birthday cupcakes, a balloon photo wall and a book stand.

For keen gamers ready for a challenge, an interactive Marmalade racing game will be live on the centre’s giant 230” big screen. Throughout the day children will be free to join in with the fun by using their own mobile phones as the controller.

Robert Pickersgill, marketing manager at intu Merry Hill, said: “Our friendly mammoth has proven to be extremely popular with children and parents alike, so we’re looking forward to seeing lots of smiles on his birthday, especially when children spot Marmalade and their favourite TV presenter roaming around the centre.

“Half term is a perfect opportunity for families to spend some quality time together and create happy memories away from the usual hectic schedule.”

Marmalade the Mammoth is a permanent feature of the centre, as part of the intu family club, which offers parents and their children a number of fun activities to enjoy together at intu shopping destinations across the UK.
