The Polar Express will run to and from Birmingham Moor Street station from Thursdays to Sundays, between November 29 and December 23.

Yesterday the website for the attraction crashed due to huge demand, though tickets are still available for all dates online.

It is based on the 2004 movie The Polar Express and will run from Platform 4 at Moor Street to the 'North Pole' with Santa Claus making an appearance on the train to give presents to each child.

The whole performance, including the ride to the North Pole and back to Moor Street station is approximately one hour.

The festive film is set to come to live as the train conductor will invite passengers to climb aboard, before dancing chefs and waiters serve cookies and hot chocolate to travellers.

The story of The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsbury will be told in its entirety during the journey.

Passengers young and old are encouraged to wear pyjamas by organisers Vintage Trains whop are based at the Tyseley Locmotive Works in Birmingham.

After departing the train, the fun continues as little ones have the chance to see what the Christmas elves have created in their workshops ahead of Christmas.

Tickets can be booked online here or calling 0121 708 4960.

Organisers recommend that you arrive between 15 and 30 minutes before your performance start time.

Golden Tickets, seat assignments and confirmation of Performance Start time will arrive by post no less than 7 days before you travel to the North Pole.

Children aged three and under can travel for free as long as they do not occupy a seat.
